Our Community

Serving patients around the world is at the heart of what we do at Amgen—and this goes beyond making vital medicines. Each year, Amgen and our staff members dedicate significant resources towards building a better tomorrow and improving health systems so they can serve patients more effectively.

In Malaysia, Amgen is also a corporate partner in the Bone Health Alliance Malaysia (BHAM) that was launched in 2021.  BHAM consists of 3 key NGOs – The Osteoporosis Awareness Society of Kuala Lumpur and Selangor (OASKLS), Fragility Fracture Network Malaysia (FFNM), and Malaysian Osteoporosis Society (MOS). It aims to raise awareness and interest of osteoporosis among local communities.  Amgen is constantly partnering and supporting various healthcare establishments to provide medical education to healthcare professionals and the public to increase health awareness and education.

AMGEN'S RESPONSE TO COVID-19 IN MALAYSIA

SERVING OUR PATIENTS, OUR PEOPLE AND OUR COMMUNITIES

The COVID-19 pandemic and ensuing challenges have affected the way we all work and live over the past few years. In Malaysia, we have actively sought to find ways to support patients, safeguard our teams, and contribute to relief efforts.

In 2020, we have made corporate donations to relief funds managed by Mercy Malaysia and Pharmaceutical Association of Malaysia to support various COVID-19 strategic preparedness and response efforts. These initiatives include:

  1. Procurement of Personal Protective Equipment and other items needed by the healthcare frontliners
  2. Livelihood support for members of at-risk communities
  3. Infection prevention and control/water, sanitisation and hygiene
  4. Mental health and psychosocial support
